About VATJO

About VATJO
Wednesday, 27 June 2007

The VATSIM Jordanian vACC was created with the purpose of accurately simulating the procedures in Jordanian Airspace on the VATSIM network. One of the main aims of the organization is to promote greater traffic not only through Jordan, but through the greater Middle East by cooperating closely with our colleagues all over the region.

Controllers must be aware that airports in Jordan are mostly surrounded by high terrain. Airports like OJAI, OJAM and OJMF are over 2,000 feet above sea level and are surrounded by areas of prohibited airspace. Controllers are advised to download the sector files along with appropriate charts to begin familiarizing themselves with the airports in the airspace, as well as the general procedures.

VATJO will allow VFR and Military flights within its airspace. However, these flights will be under strict supervision in accordance with real world procedures.

Guest Controller Policy

The VATSIM Jordanian vACC allows any and all controllers to administer positions all over Jordanian Airspace. Any controller with the appropriate rating may control at any VATSIM Jordanian vACC position. Visiting controllers can obtain the VATJO sector file by contacting one of our directors.

Training

Controllers looking for training are to contact the Director of the division for more information. All VATJO controllers are required to have trained, and passed, general examinations on the VATSIM network.
